Europcar Chile Rental Terms for travel between 21-Nov-2014 and 31-Dec-2019

All deposits taken at time of booking are non-refundable.
The supplier accepts the following credit cards: AMEX, VISA, MASTER and DINERS, no surcharge for paying by credit cards. The supplier accepts cash also but NO debit cards.

Driving Licence: A valid driver's licence will be required. If licence is not  written in Roman or Latin Letters, an International Driving Licence will be required.

Additional Driver:
One additional driver permited, must present same documentation as primary driver. Cost USD 8 per day tax included. Maximum charge 22 days.

Age for Renting:
Minimum 18 years old, no maximum if licence is not expired. A young driver fee of USD 10 plus tax per day applies for drivers between 18 and 21 years old.

Only Credit Card, no cash accepted. Card holder and owner should be the same as the reservation and renting driver. Amounts blocked on credit card should be between USD 600 and USD 1600. By this guarantee, renters accept a late charge as a result of any extra not included in rate.

Rental Agreement:
The Rental Agreement provided to the customer at the pick up station will be drafted in Spanish.

Santiago Locations:
A surcharge  will be applied ( Santiago TOLL ). It corresponds to USD 9,52 per day of rental, tax included. In some rates this surcharge could be included. Maximum Charge 14 days.

Plate Numbers Restrictions:
In case the law or any Government Institution states that some plate numbers are unable to circulate some days of the week, Europcar Chile will not be responsible of unused days refund. Replacement car depending availability.

If the renters return the vehicle  before the end of the agreed rental period for any reason, they will not be entitled to a refund for any unused days. No refund will be given either if the customer fails to collect the vehicle at the rental start time and has not cancelled.

CDW Coverage:
Some rates could not include this coverage. In case it is icluded or purchased, all car groups have an excess, the value of which will depend on car group. In Chile this coverage includes a limited third party liability until USD 20.000. Excess: In case of accident/own damages or third parties involved, excess surcharge value will depend on car group. Amounts between USD 300 until USD 1000. Subject to change. Police Report Mandatory.

Declination of CDW Coverage:
In case rate does not include CDW, passengers are allowed to decline CDW, USD 2.000 will be blocked plus guarantee to the credit card. A declination Statement has to be signed. If the amount requested cannot be covered by Credit Card for possibles damages to own and third parties, CDW will be mandatory. Police statement also will be required in case of an accident or damages even if passenger declines CDW. Full damages will be charged to the credit card.

Other Excess:
Roll Over or Turn Over excess, Total Loss, Car Theft an excess of aprox USD 1000 tax included will be charged even if the car is covered by CDW. Police Report Mandatory. Amount subject to change.

Damages or Accidents:
Damages or accident should be reported to a police station. The renter must present a statement to the nearest Europcar Station in order to activate CDW in the 12 hours the accident occured. Police Statement is mandatory to activate any coverage. In case the police statement is not presented to Europcar Chile full values of damages to own and third parties involved will be charge to the credit card.

Cross border:
Argentina ONLY. Seven days advanced reservations is required. Renters must send to their License and passport scanned, credit card number with expiration at least 7 days before the start of the rental. Changes/cancellations only accepted 48 hours before the start of the rental (working days) otherwise full value will be charged, no shows will be fully charged. Europcar Chile will not be responsible if the renter is not able to cross the border if renter did not send all required paperwork within the correct period. Passengers going to Patagonia may need a permit to cross border depending on each passenger schedule.

Cost for Cross Border Permit:
1-15 days outside Chilean territory, approx. USD 100, 16-30 days, approx. USD 140, 31-60 Days USD 215. Tax included.

Roadside Assistance/ Vehicle Recovery:
Roadside assistance only includes mechanical issues in route, such as flat battery or flat tyre. It could be cost associated depending on the type of incident. Passengers will be driven to a safe place or to another Europcar Station. Car replacement subject to availability and must be requested at the station. In case of accident the passenger will be fully responsible for any transportation or tow truck cost of the car to the Europcar Station. This service is limited by geaographical distance or if the car is outside Chilean territory.

Collection & Delivery:
Only available for non airport locations. Upon request to with a valid credit card and expiration date. Service available from Monday to Thursday between 10am and 5pm. Cost: USD 39 including tax. Service and values upon request depending distance.

Snow Chains:
ONLY allowed for 4WD vehicles and subject to availability.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI):
Coverage for all passengers of the rented vehicle in case of collision. USD 3 tax included. Coverage will only be valid in Chile.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI):
Extends liability from USD 20.000 to USD 287.000 for third party damages and liability. Must be taken in addition to CDW. Cost USD 18 tax included. Coverage will only be valid in Chile.

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW):
Eliminates excess to zero only for own damages. Third party responsibility will still have an excess. Must be taken in addition to CDW. Cost USD 12  per day tax included. Will only be activated with a Police Report. Coverage will only be valid in Chile.

Theft Waiver (THW):
Eliminates excess from USD 1.000 to zero in case of car theft. Cost USD 26 per day tax included. Police Report Mandatory. Maximum charge 20 days. Coverage will only be valid in Chile.

SVALF Coverage:
Eliminates the excess from USD 1.000 to zero in case of roll over. Cost USD 25 per day tax included. Police Report Mandatory. Maximum charge 20 days. Coverage will only be valid in Chile.

WWI Coverage:
Cover damages  to windscreen, mirrors and tyre damage resulting from a normal use of the vehicle. Does not cover rims. Cost USD 15 per day tax included. Police Report Mandatory. Maximum charge 10 days. Coverage will only be valid in Chile.

GO Zen Package:
Includes: THW +SLI+SCDW+WWI. Rate must consider CDW, otherwise must be purchased separately. Driver must be 26 years. Not available for premium or luxury cars. USD 40 p/d tax included.

GO Zen Plus Package:
Includes:THW+SLI+SCDW+WWI+PAI+SARA.Rate must consider CDW,otherwise must be purchased separately. Driver must be 26 years. Not available for premium or luxury. USD 55 p/d tax included.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable. 

If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
